- I will give you the information you need to make good decisions on YOUR project.
Why I’m passionate about this business:
- I have worked side by side with my professional contractor husband, David Anderson, for 41 years (“Anderson Construction”).
- I have worked on the job site, observing countless experts and owners.
- Being the person I am, I try to fix things, make them easier…
- I have listened to the many reasons people do or don’t want something.
- I have watched other designers and professionals tell owners what they want (for some clients, this is ok). However, I have to say from my experience, most owners are dissatisfied with the choices other people make for them.
- I have gleaned information from every possible angle of this decision making situation for 41 years, and have come up with a way to let the owners learn and make their own choices.
My past experience applied:
- I am an Artist, so color and design are innate to me.
- I look at home design with flow, comfort, and use as the forefront in my design thought.
- I designed our home in Los Gatos, from the ground up. Designed kitchen and flow design for remodeling.
- I went through a few designers and architects, and they didn’t listen to the vision we had. I was very frustrated, especially having watched and participated in building homes with my husband.
- I’ve learned to read plans, form foundations, pour cement, hammer nails, hang rafters, hang sheetrock, tape and texture (although I am not good at texture), and I know how to put in a toilet (but I prefer not to).
- I do, however, enjoy the process of creating a home that works for the owners. A home where people will feel comfortable, and one that works for the needs of their family.
- Designing in the garden, is one of my joys.
- My love of plants, color, and shape/texture interest me, so it is something I am continually learning about and studying.
- I have designed garden plans for my own homes and for many others. Some plans are very detailed, with plants and positions, others just concepts and flow. Some include BBQ and seating area.
- I love gardens that are full of color and texture and easy to manage.
